I’m looking for rubicon springs and shocks take offs for my sport s. I kind of know what numbers to look for in springs, but just assumed the shocks were all the same. I now see they have different numbers. Is there a good number I should look for ?

What do you mean "I now see.........." and that they have different numbers?
Where did you "see" that?

Depending on who you talk to, some people here say there’s a different combo for every top, bumper, and engine. Suggesting there’s about 10 different Rubicon front shock setups. In theory a diesel with a hard top and steel bumper would be the strongest, and soft top 3.6 gas with a plastic bumper the least stiff of them all. I would suggest just finding a set of any rubicon takeoffs. Best $300 suspension for the sport around.

There are different part numbers for the front and rear shocks, otherwise the Rubicon Fox shocks are all the same, for the gas engine models. The shocks on the diesel Rubicon may be different, since the engine adds an additional 400 pounds to the front end.

Springs, yes - but I have yet to see anyone post evidence of different shock part numbers for each.
So far, like too many things on the web in general, it's speculation or "I think that......."
Based on my experience in the automotive world, meh, all the gas Rubicon JTs run the same front shocks and the same rear shocks. If we see different part numbers - in the same BUILD dates, that's different.

I would tend to agree. No manufacturing operation in its right mind would make so many parts for the same vehicle at the same time. The difference in weight from a steel to plastic bumper is less than the difference in the level of gas in the tank, or a fat driver vs skinny. Some people here beat their chests its true though. I wont say they are wrong, but it would defy logic.
