Hey guys, I am new to my Gladiator. I’ve noticed sometimes when turning my truck off it’s going into ACC mode and not OFF. Maybe I’m doing it too quickly when putting in park? Maybe having your foot still on the brake still will do that? Pushing the button too quickly instead of holding it? I didn’t see anything in the manual. Thx

I’m doing it the same way I did my Infiniti push button for 7 years. Old habits die hard.

I have a MT and shift to neutral, lift e-brake, push button to turn off and it never goes to ACC. That said I’m curious how to go from “run” with engine on ti “ACC” engine off without a total shutdown as sometimes I want to kill the engine but keep the radio on without doing a full shutdown.

Wanna trade Jeeps? ?

WIth your foot on the brake and in run, you should go to off with just a single push.

Maybe giving a false push if you are doing it too quick and your finger is bouncing unintentionally. I work aircraft that have glass displays with outer bezel button keys and you have to be deliberate with the pressing and not make it a race or the buttons will picked a finger bounce that is not discernible to the operator most times when they do it.

I think it could be me doing it too quickly. I’ve tested it and have been intentional with the push (holding it down for a full second) and it went into OFF. My old car I could pretty much tap it and it goes off.

I just want to make sure nothing is wrong while it’s under warranty still.

Lol maybe it’s that quick super quick push with foot on the brake I’ve been doing? (Or something is wrong which is why I’m here haha)

Coming from a Ford at the first of the year mine was doing the same thing if I hit the button too quickly or didn't push hard enough. As long as I give it a slower more deliberate push it goes to off every time.

Mine goes off with a tap. I do not hold it at all.

It has to recognize that it is in Park before it will allow a shutdown.

That makes sense. I might be hitting the button simultaneously as I’m putting it in park (that’s also why my foot is still on the brake). Sometimes I just need to take a breath and slow down a little bit.

I love this forum…doesn’t matter how dumb a question you will always get answers! ?
