Living in the midwest rust belt, I've been wanting to put something on my JT undercarriage to help prevent rust. My frame looks pretty decent, some light surface rust - and I've been thinking of using these products to help prevent further spread:

I'm looking for something relatively cheap that will be easy to spray/apply and not make an entire mess in my garage.
I know fluid film / wool wax seem to be the gold standard - but that stuff seems so messy - and it sounds like it'll slowly come off with frequent car washes (which I get here weekly in Wisconsin).
I know the rust-oleum isn't 100% bomb proof, but I would assume its better than nothing?
Thanks.
