It IS normal when it hasn't been finished properly! lolMy dealer told me this is normal.
jeep is gonna blame this on the customer over tightening the bolt, and claim he did it after removing the doors. If you zoom in real close it also looks like your paint is cracked and flaking off. This will be a much bigger issue if the body under the pint is starting to rust.
I would be elevating this and include pictures. Thts going to need bodyshop work and repainting IMO
I would consider using this instead
This is the door check on the 2022 JTU I picked up in early December. Looks like it's already starting to develop some rust. Pulling these off and giving them a clean and the rattle can treatment will be spring project to put on my list.
The finish on that bracket sucks, too. Look how thin that is.

Doors off or on should not matter. You get crud in those areas from winter slop and splashing and such. I have to wash the door edges and door jambs every time I clean the truck. Stuff ends up in there. Heck, 40 years ago parts between the door and body were finished better than these. They are STILL outdoor parts exposed to soap and water when washing.I haven't had that issue, but my doors only come off during good weather. A lot of factors could lead to that but if you've never had your doors off I would not say that is normal.
I was more thinking door storage scuffing up and introducing crud to the hinge.Doors off or on should not matter. You get crud in those areas from winter slop and splashing and such. They need a better method for disconnecting that that doesn't involve a bolt. Maybe a pin in the arm (but then if you let it go back into the door - oops)I was more thinking door storage scuffing up and introducing crud to the hinge.
I also make sure to wipe the door jams every wash as well as my tailgate, hood, and fuel door
