Service Shifter issue

I have a 21 ECO Diesel rubicon and I did the installation for the Rockslide Engineering steps today and when I went to go leave it wouldn’t shift out of park and says service shifter on dash.

I have yet to put in the inline fuse for the steps so I haven’t modified any wiring or anything like that and the only thing that was disconnected was the negative battery terminal for a couple hours.

It starts right up and runs but just won’t shift out of park.

Beyond getting it out of park, did you get an arc when you disconnected the ground cable, or was there any incidental contact with ground after you removed it?

First thing I would try is to give it a power reset.
Carefully remove the cables and the IBS from the - terminal on the main battery. Leave them off for about 30 minutes. Carefully reconnect them and let the vehicle it another 4 hours minimum.
See what you've got then.

So disconnect for 30 minutes, reconnect and let sit for four hours? Also there was a very minor arc when reconnecting the negative battery terminal.
