Anyone ever had this? How serious? Do I need to take it to the dealer? The check engine light didn’t flash but it’s still there. Haven’t had time to clear it yet.

Had this before; was a low battery/loose ground on the battery. I know sounds wild and like it wouldn't be related but tightening the ground and a little bit on the charger and the issue service shifter module went away. I also got it again when I forgot to plug in the RDN lights by the automatic shifter after cleaning the center console.

DId you find issues with your harness like he did?
I haven’t. I did a tightening on the negative and grounds in the engine bay and the issue hasn’t been back. I didn’t dive too deep into it. If it reappears I’ll go back in. I’m not a fan of jumping in and messing with stuff that doesn’t need to be messed with until I need to mess with it……..if that makes sense. I’ve found looking for issues that aren’t there or are caused by something totally unrelated leads to more craziness.

Mine went crazy on me this morning, so I have to dive into it when I get home this afternoon.

Wonderful!!!! If mine is going to malfunction now would be a great time for it to happen. Kids are now out of school so Jeep doesn’t need to get used much until I get a part time landed.
