Put my order in almost 50 days ago and still don’t have a VIN. I’m no stranger to long vehicle waits but the VIN is usually issued right away. My dealer says to be patient but it feels less like waiting in a long line for a roller coaster at an amusement park and more like waiting in a line outside the park wondering if I will even get in.

Sorry bud, I get the anxiety and after 50 days I would be worried as well.

Have you gotten a vehicle order number from your dealer? If so, you can also track via the Jeep order tracking website that was released a few weeks (maybe months?) back.

Something is badly amiss. I had a VIN in 2 or 3 days, as do most people. The factory system is not accepting your order for some reason the dealership should have sorted out weeks ago.

I'd also contact Jeep chat, or that site, and see if the order was even accepted. Could be the dealer got notice that it was kicked back and he didn't notice it.
They assign VINs weeks, even months, before a build.
I ordered May 2 late in the day, had the VON the next morning and the VIN a couple of days or so later. Mine wasn't built until the last week of June.
VINs should be assigned quickly unless there's a problem with the inability of Jeep to get some major part - and it would have to be major, not some little thing like bed liner or black seats or whatever.

Thanks for the reply’s everyone. I’m up in Canada so none of that tracking works for me. I just bugged my salesman again and it is in status BG and says it will likely be a 2023.

I wonder how that could work - maybe in Canada - but if I sit down and get into a purchase agreement, and I'm ordering a 2022, and I order certain specific options - it had better come that way, and at the price I agreed to. Otherwise, they failed to fulfill.
Now if you ordered this week or last, the dealer should know enough to explain how things could happen - but that long ago, if it was a 2023 and not exactly as I ordered and at the price I agreed to, I could walk away and they couldn't say a word.
Granted a 2023 may be better - but not with the price increases. (but then there may be unwanted changes, too, because of the 2023 model year if you didn't want FCW and all that)

Order books haven't even been released for 2023 yet, so it would have to have been a 2022, especially if it was 50 days ago. Seems like BG means something is holding up the order for the scheduling phase. What did you order?

He did say I would get the 2023 for the price of the 2022

My dealer told me that the spray-in bedliner wasn't currently available to order, so that could be your issue. It's possible that one or more of those options are restricted right now or something. The order guides for 2023 are supposedly coming out on the 15th, but that's just a rumor. I'll be selecting every option you did except the steel bumper, so I'm hoping I don't run into the same problem. Best of luck to you.

My dealer said no matter how long it took, the price we agree on would be the price I paid - of course, incentives, etc. played into it as well - the affiliate program had to still be active, etc.
If it was something that either was lacking what you ordered, or added something you didn't want to the order because it was a 2023 (which can happen due to rules and laws going into effect for that model year) then you have the right to say no thinks.
But if it otherwise matches and it's what you actually ordered and at the agreed-upon price, then fine.

My dealer told me that the spray-in bedliner wasn't currently available to order, so that could be your issue. It's possible that one or more of those options are restricted right now or something
That wouldn't impact not getting a VIN - the VIN is assigned to the truck and major items, not the minor accessories like that. If it was a problem, they could still build it and it would either wait for that to become available or ship without it with a price adjustment as has been done in the past. But to not assign a vin due to bedliner?
And the dealer would have had the order kicked back if there was something Jeep simply could not do. Not all dealers seem to pay attention to the communications kicked back at them. If the order was accepted, then there's something else afoot.
There's been people here who received their truck with no bedliner...... it was still built. Body vendor applies that so it would still be fully assembled otherwise - and either wait or ship without it.

Maybe they ran out of the sand they put in the bedliner or something LOL
