IF anyone here ORDERS via their DEALERSHIP . . . IN APRIL (hint), they should photo a copy of THE pricing they negotiated and any other pricing info they can "confiscate" from the sales guy , , , & offer it up HERE at a New Thread ! !
Not questioning this post just curious what logic it makes to collect orders for 2 months with out producing?

The first ones out to dealers are going to arrive in color color and trim however FCA decides to ship them. The dealer Has no input. The number they get us based off their sales history of JLUs and JLU inventory. The customers that put pre order deposits down will have right of first refusal on those early units. I don’t see any real deal to be had on those unless the GM really likes the customer, lol. But obviously we will get pricing and can sort through the pricing by comparing it to JLs percentage wise to figure out likely discounting.

I had read somewhere in this forum that the initial batches to be sent to dealers will be Rubicons and Sports. I feel certain that the Rubicons will be loaded with options and will be very expensive. Baffled as to why they would also ship out Sport models at the other end of the spectrum. It’s ok with me since I want to get a Sport model. But I would tend to think they would pump out Rubicon and Overland models in order to get maximum profit models out first.

That's what they did with the JL so it's just an assumption. You would think Overlands have the highest margins but maybe Rubicons and Sports just sell better. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They have to get the affordable sports out there to compete with the trucks in their comparable price markets like the ranger, Tacoma and Colorado. The rubicons are going after the TRD pro and zr2 market.

Perfect -- I'll take a Sport (not the S) with automatic ($2,000) + hard top ($1,195) + Gobi + tan interior...using 5JeepAZ's base MSRP of $32,770, then my sticker price is just a tad under $36K...

Hope that's equal to or higher than actual. Worried here about max tow price... Wonder if anyone knows of a similar package and it's cost. Axles and bigger gear. ??

It's not going to be less than the Wrangler equivalent...

I’m surprised they are not all Rubicons. Every dealer I’ve talked to “wants” to mark them up. It makes sense for the initial batch to target high end buyers so they don’t sit on the lots while marked up. Then start bringing the full range of models after that.

Me saying it doesn’t mean I like it. It’s just what I would do if I was marketing it as a “one of a kind” truck.

If the global sales volume is 100k (I think I read that here), they are not going to struggle to sell them.

And to add validaty to my thought... plywood.[/QUOTE]

Talking to a dealer, there may be a sales reason for this. People come in looking for the high end rubicon and they can't afford it, so they sell them a cheaper sport. At least they still get a sale.

Learned this from a dealer who had a Porsche/Hyundai dealer. Said you wouldn't believe the amount of Hyundais they sold when someone came in for the porsche but couldn't afford it.

or is that why there's a Renegade on the lot?

Hold on a minute...ppl actually went to buy a Porsche and left with a Hyundai? Hahahaha that’s the funniest thing I’ve read on this plywood infested forum. I’m not drinking that kool-aid lol

Edit* I do love plywood tho. Don’t misread how I said the above ;)
