More or less testing the waters out here - want to get new wheels/tires for my JT and that thought of upgrading the TJ(Must buy new vehicle every 20 years, whether I need to or not).

I know different lug pattern, etc but seeing if anyone has tried, stories, etc...or should i stop dreaming and just deal with selling the JT wheels/tires?

I don't see why you couldn't get a set of 5x4.5" to 5x5" adapters and toss them on (assuming you have enough clearance). Give it a shot, worst case is you have to return the adapters, right? Do you have a lift? What is your gear ratio on the TJ?

When I was selling my take-off Rubi wheels and tires, a TJ owner was the first to respond.

He asked if he could mount two on his TJ on the front and I agreed.
It was sitting stock, both front tires rubbed on the front when turning either direction.

He didn't buy them because he didn't want to lift or modify.

Next guy with a JK bought them.

My TJ (Soon to be my 17 year olds if he would apply for his learners permit) currently has 33" ATs on old American Racing steel wheels (3.5" Rubicon Express lift + 1" body lift so clearance is not an issue) 4.56 gears.

For my YJ I got an adapter set on Amazon and bought a set of 5 JK Rubicon rims off the 'net. I used my Falken AT's from my JTR to replace a set of 33x10.5 KM2's on AR767 rims. 4" lift to fit, though! Definitely limits turning radius because of the front leaf springs, though.
