A weekend isn't enough. We get there on the 7/25 leaving 8/3. Watch the sunset every night then some ice cream...
Yeah I really wish I had more than a weekend there, but it's not too far from me so, there may be a few trips there in my future. ;)

I have a fire dept obligation Saturday the 15th. We may make it up in the afternoon but Im not sure yet. Don't forget when you come up, to get on the dunes you will need a flag on the front of your jeep, a state park pass, a Michigan ORV, and a trail permit. All in for stickers its about $70. All your stickers can be purchased at the DNR parking lot to the East of the dune entrance. If you need a flag there are several shops that sell them, you just need a way to mount it to your bumper. For air pressure do yourself a favor and start at 12psi. The dunes were a little choppy this weekend with alot of sugar sand. I ended up at 10psi before the day was over.

That would be cool if you make it out that day too. But correct me if I'm wrong ( and I found out after planning the weekend) but I think that coincidentally, that weekend is Free ORV weekend, so I don't think there is a need for the passes and permits that weekend. Also, isn't there a few places up there that rent flags and has brackets to attach to the front bumper? But again I could be wrong.

But I will definitely take your advice on the 12 PSI and adjust accordingly.

Just called the dnr office, that is a free orv weekend, so no orv or trail pass needed. You will need a state park pass though. Its $42 for the yearly, or $12 daily. I don't know if there are any places that rent the mounts or not. Flags are pretty in expensive. As far as mounting if you have an aftermarket bumper you just need a hole (I can get you the diameter tonight) or there are mounts that bolt to a factory tow hook.

Ok great! And I can get the state park pass from the same place in the DNR parking lot to the east of the dunes? As far as flags and mounting, I have a factory steel bumper still, so what type of mount and where can I purchase it and the flag?

Yes, the state park pass is available at the dnr center.
I will get some pictures tonight for mounting options, and diameter of hole you would need.

When referring to "wing" do you mean the extension the the steel bumper that is removable to make it a stubby bumper?
Yes.
