So when i start to come to a stop around 5 to 10 mph i get a slight grinding sound coming from the rear end . The brakes are like new and i also checked the emergencey brake shoes. The best way to describe it is when the brake pads start to grind needing replacement. Any ideas what this could be ? The truck only has 6000 miles on it and has new 4.88 gears with about 2000 miles on them.

When the gearing job was done, did the brake pads get removed and mixed together and maybe did not get put back in the same side and position they were removed from? Did the same rotors go back on the same side? May have parking brake adjustment drag if they did not go back on the same side.

I would jack and put on stands the rear axle with the wheels off the ground and in 2WD drive have somebody run it up to speed, decelerate and try to narrow down where the grinding is exactly coming from.

If still thinking pads and rotors do not appear warped, glazed or hot spotted, probably can get away with a pad slap at 6K miles.

great questions i was wondering the same thing. From what i can see everything seems fine but still grinds . No idea if all the parts went back in the same position, i had the jeep dealer do the work.
Just strange that it grinds at all. Plus it only does it at around 10 mph and lower speed

Did they put in a DANA/MOPAR gear set it in? If so, they may need to look at it and warranty it on workmanship related to the gear swap.

Also, my previously mention step of putting the rear wheels up and putting in drive may or may not work. I know some modern vehicle get funky with that if they are not seeing all 4 wheel speed sensor data and may engage the ABS and stop it.

I would think they should still warranty their work if a workmanship issue of assembling everything back together. Might still be worth a talk to them.
