Has anyone installed the Smittybilt Rear Bumper Bracket kit (part number 78701K) on their Gladiator yet? Smittybilt states:
" If you love the styling of your JL's rear bumper and want to bring that same design over to your JT, now you can with the Smittybilt JT Bumper Adapter Kit, 78701K. This adapter is a great addition to Smittybilt's catalog of customization options to make your JT stand out. With the ability to use a JL rear bumper on a JT, the JT's options for customization and protection are vastly increased. With the simple bolt-on/ no-drill installation, customizing your JT couldn't be easier."

I would be interested in perhaps utilizing this in conjunction with a JT bumper that has a built-in hitch and removing the Gladiator hitch as it is the lowest point on the rear of the Gladiator. My thought is that it would help the departure angle when off-roading.

Damn! If I knew this existed I would not have left my Rock Hard 4x4 Patriot bumper on my '19 JLUR when I traded it in on the Gladiator. :headbang:

Resurrecting this thread to add a photo from Smittybilt and bump for any new posts. This looks like a great feature to get a much higher and tighter rear end (hey-oh). I think it looks great with the XRC Gen 2 bumper shown here.

Iā€˜d imagine there’s a risk you can’t keep your spare tire in the same location, especially if it’s oversized. But the photo shows a spare there, so would love for Smitty to confirm.

I feel like whoever is first to come out with a bracket and high clearance bumper with hitch first will make a killing. I hit that hitch every single time. It’s definitely a low point for the Gladiator (I’ll see myself out)

JCR already makes a bumper with the hitch receiver relocated behind the license plate

Thanks! I totally missed that little hidden feature. Super functional, but if I don't intend to use the swinging attachments, I wonder if the corners are too bulky. Would be good to see a side by side comparison with the stock rear bumper, as I'm looking for a more slender profile.

They had my curiosity, now they have my interest. :)

This could be a huge opportunity. The JT options are still limited and theres a particular vendor I wont deal with based on multiple reports posted here that further limits the options. If I can bolt on any JL rear bumper my factory rear bumper will be getting the heave-ho much sooner than expected.

How much is the Smitty Built adapter thing going for retail?

Ouch. I know that hurts. RH4x4 stuff is top tier quality and priced accordingly.
