Its your choice, but these repairs now are so expensive, Here's my fleet:
2011 Yukon Denali (ext warranty GMEPP Cost 2200) - Repairs Torque Converter (1800), Heated Seat (695), Transfer case seals (600), Interior heater blower motor (1200). Verdict -saved money
2013 RAM 1500 (ext warranty GWC ~2000) - Repairs, Front upper/lower control arms (1500), Leaking differential seal (1800 - they require the gears to come out), air suspension compress/valve body (1700). - Verdict Saved Money
2017 Chevy SS (~1600 ) - used none of it.

So, spent $5800,. $9300 in repairs... RAM and SS still under warranty...

So, yes I bought it on the jeep at time of purchase (used the above Michigan dealer as quote for my local dealer). One bad repair is easily 1500-2000, if its an expensive part and/or labor intentsive... I heard that Jeeps have problems...lol.
I work in tech support for a company that sells scientific instruments. One of the ways we make a lot of money is by selling service contracts. The primary way we sell service contracts is by demonstrating how much we charge for parts and labor. And we continually make both egregiously expensive in order to coerce customers into justifying long service contracts. That does two things: 1) allows you to form a long-term relationship with your customer and foster their familiarity with your products and 2) if your service is prompt and reliable, you build trust with that customer. Then when the time comes to purchase a new instrument, they're far more likely to purchase again from you. I suspect automotive warranties function in much the same way. Or are at least intended to.

I was a GM service advisor until a couple of years ago. We sold and took Fidelity by JMA Group and it was an excellent warranty plan.
And yes, I do agree with you. Some of those a/m warrantys were just awefull, especially the ones purchased thru the internet.
You all could ask about Fidelity when you call your dealers that are listed here.
Last I knew, Fidelity starts at the buy date unlike Mopar that starts at the in service date.
Yep, they were awesome with the Tacoma issues I had a few years ago. Highly recommend them.

I noticed some of the Chrysler warranty sites talk about only warrantying a MOPAR lift installed by a dealer.

Anyone know if they mean the whole extended warranty is void with a non MOPAR lift installed or what?
Yep, I asked the dealerships and warranty companies this very question. The answer I got was "Mopar kit needs to be installed by Mopar-certified technicians". Otherwise, any component that the suspension can influence will no longer be covered by your warranty. I'm sure they'll get pretty imaginative when determining what components could be peripherally altered by a suspension.

Everyone told me it was such a waste of money to purchase an extended warranty on a Tacoma in 2011. Then at 70k miles, transmission and clutch assembly all went out. I was a grad student at the time and $10,000 to replace that stuff would have been untenable. Working with a dealership, at $175 an hour, many issues can cost $2,500 to fix.
Anyone saying they’re a waste of money doesn’t know what they’re talking about. There are numerous computers and other electronic gremlins in new vehicles compared to vehicles from the 70s that with a little duct tape and chewing gum could be fixed in your driveway. I wouldn’t buy a new vehicle, washer dryer, refrigerator or anything that’s uses electricity today without an extended warranty.

Anyone have a recommendation for someone offering good deals on Mopar warranties?

I’ve done business with Tom Winkels before and was happy, however, I’ve reached out to him and the dealership a time or two this go round and have not heard back, so looking for others.
