Hello all, just wanted to pop in and say hi! Wife and I pulled the trigger on a poverty spec Gladiator Sport last week, and it's great. We were looking at used ones, but round here you're in the mid-20s for the cheapest, oldest, highest mileage examples, and mid-30s for a newer one. It so happened that our local dealer had a base model soft top, with auto trans and Bedliner for $41K. Ok, sold! The F-250 I traded for it was worth more, so no tax even, absolute bargain.
We live in Sevierville TN, and Jeep Invasion in Pigeon Forge right next door is coming up, so I've been ordering some bits and bobs for it. Found some Rubicon take-off wheels with Falken Rubitrax rubber in good shape for not much, got some side steps and a cheap front leveling kit on order. Also knocked up a door rack today in my shop.
For background I'm really a Land Rover guy, 15 years in the British Army (a while back!) driving Defenders of all types, and currently have a Range Rover, as does the wife. The basicness (is that a word?) of the Sport model and the driving position takes me back to my Army days - although military Land Rovers are LOT more spartan, this Gladiator is like a limo in comparison, with the toys you get on even the Sport.
Anyway, here's a couple pics.
