I just got my gladiator last night with the soft top and storage bag, but I am confused with the diagram printings on the bag and hard, round ends. is it designed to be rolled once the window is in place? or is it really just a "sleeve" to keep the window from scratching?

Do you happen to have the Mopar part number for the storage bag?

Im also a bit confuses because the top
Came with the bungee straps that button above the rear window as if you could roll it up. Upon trying to roll up the plastic seems way too rigid and would impose creases if actually rolled up to those bungee rings. Has anyone tried to actually roll it up?
Hard to describe (I should have taken a photo) but I believe those straps are to further secure the top when it is open. I snap the straps above where the window would be, then wrap the straps around the soft top and secure them over the hook/clasps. I use the two velcro straps as shown in other diagrams to secure the top’s brackets.

No. It's designed to fold in half. The carrying handles on each end of the bag allow it to be easily carried while folded in half. It's a soft bend of the window and I wouldn't put anything on top of the bag with the window in there.

I have rolled mine up with no problem and no damage. I place it on a small fleece blanket, fold the top and bottom edges into the window, roll, keeping edges tight and roll straight, then I have the corner pieces stacked within each other, place the rolled window on that, then bungee around that on each end, then place it in an old dry Bag I have always kept in my jeeps, put it in the back of the truck.... if I need it with me, if not then of course I leave it flat in my shop.

Definitely better than spending $180
For sure! Way back in 1995 when I bought my YJ it came with a window bag that you rolled the windows and they slide in, it fit in the fold of the soft top and you still had your lil
storage space behind the back seat. When I bought my 04 TJ, it did not come with anything for the windows and I mostly had for the most part started using the YJ as a small truck, so no back seat, deck cover and bikini top, so I used that same window back for the TJ... it was a good method, my windows were always in good shape and a lil warm weather take any possible wrinkle out. Still have that lil bag but I thought integrating the side panels seemed like a more compact way to work in out.

Not mine, but this photo was on Facebook ... this is what I was trying to describe with the straps that snap in above the window. The strap then hooks around the latch that secures the top to the windshield when the top is closed. My top is closed cause 80% chance of rain tomorrow.

Regarding the soft top window storage bag, answering a couple questions from an earlier post: (1) there are instructions on how to use it in the full owner's manual. (2) the part number is 68396560AB, according to my dealer, who had to order one for me since it didn't come with the vehicle like it was supposed to. (This is the $75 optional "soft top window storage bag".)

Thanks for the pic on the elastic straps! First time I've understood what they're for. But do you think rolling the window that way will harm the green plastic side retainers? They don't seem that flexible to me, but maybe I'm just too scared to try it ... Also, there's nothing in the owners manual about those straps or rolling up the rear window.
