I figured I'd make a quick post to potentially help someone else out in the future. My Jeep is brand new with roughtly 2,800mi. The other day headed home from work, I had the top back and the stereo cranked pretty good. I started to notice a subtle yet annoying rattle at certain frequencies during virtually every song. When I got home, I decided to see if it was something as simple as the speaker grill or maybe even the screws that hold the speakers themself in. I took off each grill on the soundbar and double checked that everything was tight (it was). While at home, I replicated the sound and was able to confirm that it was just the plastic housing of the sound bar itself. If I pressed it ever so slightly, the noise went away. Its a little hoaky, but my solution was to slit a piece of rubber tubing and wedge it in there. Shouldn't have to do it on a truck that cost as much as this, but hey, it works and its basically invisible. Hope this helps someone in the future.

I had thought about squeezing some silicone sealant into the seam but your way of doing it is much less messy. Thanks for the tip!

Sorry for the late photo, my phone is acting screwy.

That looks good and not a hack at all! All vehicles buzz at some point (so many expensive cars have let me down in that way!). This is especially true for me since I live off of a long dirt and gravel road...

Anyhow, I keep a few rubber shims around for that reason, even if just to see if it helps and to later do something more permanent about it. For whatever reason, I can't source this kind locally. These are great since they are stiff enough to use as a shim, but pliable to absorb vibrations. I have a "few" in different places on my truck. ;)

EDIT: I'm around 12K miles and just started to notice the very vibration you described here. I also have an occasional dash vibration when it is cold and these have helped (and can only see them if you know they are there).

I noticed this exact same thing when i took my hard top off the other day. Thanks for the tip. I will try it this weekend.

Cspence thanks for the post. Was trying to figure out what to use. You mentioned rubber tubing. What size tubing and where did you get it? Just really want to give it a clean look sort of like it belongs there. Thanks

I’ll have to check when I get home from vaca. It was just some spare tubing I had in my tool box. Was some sort of rubber vacuum tubing.

this is happening for my 2024 JT Sport Nighthawk.... but with my hard top on. I can stop the rattling by pressing up on the middle of my soundbar. I am going to try putting some tubing type material up in the seams on the bottom of the soundbar.

Just an update on this... brought it in to dealer today, they were not able to solve much by torquing down screws and filling cavities with insulation material. So I bought a ratchet strap and ratcheted down right in the middle of the soundbar. Solved the rattling noise instantly. If interested, I can post pics and what kind of ratchet strap to buy.

I havent done it yet but i was thinking about dissasmbling the soundbar and filling it with killmat and poly fill, then maybe add some rubber tubing somewhere if there are more rattles.

Do you mind posting a pic of the strap on your jeep, along with which strap you bought? This may be my last resort before going to a dealer, as placing my hand on top of the soundbar is the only thing that stops the rattle at the moment.
