Spare tire lock

So we are down in Mexico for a few months and decided get an oil change at the dealer. The dealer did a walk around and notified me that our spare tire is missing. It's messed up, but I get it. Don't like it, but it is what it is down here.

That being said, do they make a spare tire lock? I would hate to have my 37 down there and that get stolen next year.

PS, anyone in Texas have a spare they want to sell? I'll be driving up from Mexico beginning of June. Stopping in San Antonio for a bit and then heading toward Waco. Unless I find something here.

Dang, dealer quoted me 900.00 bucks for a replacement wheel and tire. Gotta call our travel insurance company.

Mopar makes one, I just use a cable and padlock through the wheel and over the frame

I saw the mopar lock, but I wanted something with a real key. There's a few holes in the frame above the spare. Not sure what they're originally for, but the slotted one nearly lines up with the lug holes.

So I ended up cutting and welding a receiver lock to a coupling and threaded it onto the end of a 5/8" bolt. Added some rubber washers to prevent rattles, and overall am pretty happy with the result!

When I worked at a Ford stealership we had a crew come in one night and made off with EVERY PICKUP TAILGATE IN THE LOT. Both new and used.

I bought a 6’ cable lock and put it through one of the holes in the wheel and around the frame.
