Spare wheel replacement suggestions

Hi All.

I'm a recent and very happy owner of a Hydra blue Jeep Gladiator Overland. I did the switch out of the tires which I can see is a theme here, but I've got caught on what to do with the spare. I now have a spare 255/70R18 Goodyear Duratrac tire, and wondered if anyone has a recommendation on a sensibly priced spare wheel for it. I'd prefer to switch out the spare that came with the vehicle - but have been caught out like others with the Overland coming with 18" wheels, and a 17" spare.

I'm about to do a long drive across the US. Feels wrong to rely on a 17" spare wheel

255/70r18 is a 32.055 inch tire
255/75r17 is a 32.059 inch tire.

You can keep your spare 17 wheel just fine just need the correct size tire for it

As has been shown to you, size of the wheel means nothing.

If it's the same bolt pattern and close to same size, it works as a spare.

The above advice is sound. It's tire diameter, not wheel, that matters.
I took it a step farther and bought a matching wheel for my Overland and 5 matching tires and do the 5 tire rotation thing and if I totally destroy one of the 5 tires, I still have 4 matching tires, I buy a tire to use as a spare and move on.
