SpecGate is likely a SCAM now!

Weekly follow up. ZERO, ZIP, NADA response from SpecGate. The order never shipped. Attempts to get an e-mail response have failed. Refund attempts have failed. These guys either need to ship my product or return my money.
This forum gave them some good reviews and looks like a good product, but my only conclusion is that they have scammed me and stolen my money.
If you own their product, congrats, you didn't get screwed over.

The Terra Acoustics Facebook account replied on 11/14/2024 to a poor review, including the following: "We regrettably had some personnel challenges and I'm just getting them cleared up." They went radio silent beginning of December, as did the SpecGate IG page.

Sounds like something happened, but that doesn't excuse holding onto payments and leaving customers in the dark. At this point, go through your bank or credit card company and file a chargeback, because you may soon run up against a time limit to do so.

@JAY this is just to raise awareness since they are an actively listed sponsor. I don't expect they need to be engaged on the forum necessarily, but ignoring customer inquiries and not shipping orders...that isn't right.

Well my bank was able to reverse the charges, so that's good. Their fraud department is on the case.
In the mean time, I will definitely be more diligent about my surfing and purchasing of products based on forum hits and hype. Hope this helps someone else on the forum. It's a great place for us to collaborate and share experiences.

I will say I just basically went thru the same type experience with Xtrusion Overland. Ordered a bed rack on Nov 9th. They said 4-6 weeks to ship. Contacted them thru their website 3 weeks ago with no response. Received a box of misc parts last week and then finally a response from them this week. Received the final shipment today. Only 1 week shy of 3 months!

Contacted them thru their website 3 weeks ago with no response. Received a box of misc parts last week and then finally a response from them this week. Received the final shipment today. Only 1 week shy of 3 months!

Oof! That is great news. I would be thrilled if I had any response from specgate. I’d even be happy to order again if and when they get their stuff in a sack, get into production. Their product looks awesome, but honestly, they seem to be way out in front of their skiis and the result is terrible. Really wish the outcome had been better.

SpecGate is not a scam, it was built meticulously by Jason and his partners. I have zero affiliation with the company, but Jason is a dear friend of mine. With great sadness, Jason passed away unexpectedly in December 2024. Jason would be devastated to know that you all didn’t get your orders fulfilled.

I had a similar experience with @Quadratec

Ordered all my skid plates on 14 OCT 23.................my transfer case skid plate didn't ship til 9 APR 24. Almost 6 fuckin months

That's how I felt with @Quadratec skid plate. I mean, hook me up with something for having to wait that long. I have just found other vendors that are more honest and attentive with their time lines.

6 weeks for a simple skid plate......OK, I'm reasonable...........BUT 6 fuckin months is bananas. I ordered well after the Batflu shit excuses expired.

Hell fine example. @Metalcloak called me yesterday, hey we're processing your order and it should ship in a week to 10 days or something like that. Woke up this morning......BOOM, tracking number from FedEx and will arrive on Friday. Under promise and over deliver. Shit even if it was 2 weeks, no biggie......they're the Gold Standard for a reason.

Wow! Really sorry to hear that, and sorry that you lost your friend.

Any attempt to reply to our numerous e-mails would have been met with grace. The complete silence caused me to feel scammed. I won’t Monday Morning Quarterback the events.

I want to give an update that the founder of Xtrusion Overland reached out to me today and apologized for the delay in getting my rack to me. He was very genuine and heartfelt in his personal email. I very much appreciated him reaching out to make sure I was happy with the rack in which I told him I was extremely happy and impressed with the quality! I wish Alan and his team great success!

Maybe the last post regarding SpecGate. Their website is now completely gone. I was sorry to hear about the passing of the founder/inventor of the SpecGate system. I was really looking forward to having my SpecGate for the Gladiator by Christmas, but I am glad our credit card was able to reimburse our expenses after numerous attempts to reach anyone at SpecGate.

My beautiful bride placed an order on SpecGate’s website on December 4, trying to get my Gladiator a present for Christmas. She received the “Order Received” email and since then, nothing. No responses from customer support, no responses from DM’s on this forum, no shipping updates from the “Shop” app. I was really looking forward to the tailgate panel, looks like a good product, but this is beginning to feel like a SCAM on our community and on me specifically. Please tell me I’m wrong. At this point any communication from them would be a blessing.

Bear with the compnay the owner died in December. And they are going though and trying to figure things out
