I am not as worried about the lead time as I am the quality issues I keep hearing.. love the concept, but leaking latches, bad fit, no interior liner are the things that make me pause.....

Love Mine as DOGS do. Did see a bit of goo from one lock today. It will be EZ to clean but Totally should not be doing this for the amount of US$$$!

I haven't heard of any quality issues. Is there a post on it? I did just receive word after my 4th call from Northridge 4x4 that the order I placed in March will not even get to the states until mid/late August. Somewhere along the line communication has faltered. First I was told 90 days, then 14 days, then any day, and now August. So close to pulling the plug, I hope its worth it because the delay basically has delayed my build all summer.

The 'Smart' aspect is suppose to be the ad-ons like the kitchen or storage areas-I got the Dumb Model!I wanna know what makes it Smart? It's just a bed topper. Not like it knows what it's doing.

I just received word from Northridge 4x4 that my order placed in March which was due in April, then May, then June, then August now has no estimated delivery date whatsoever and am I ok with that. Total screwed this summers camping and now this winters as well.
Anyone received one of these this year?

If they're shipping from South Africa, I wouldn't hold my breath... Shipping costs alone have tripled and just keep going up. They probably can't afford to sell you the cap at the price you ordered it at.

I'm not trying to sling mud on or about USA built truck caps, I thought about one (RSI) at first due to available to ship to home address. I read about all the issues some people had with it, but the company did most right front what I read. I E-mailed them and RLD asking for some information on the models. Then I called the stateside distribution companies, RLD's made me a offer for one that was to be a generation #2 with the options I wanted (but white doors) for a price I couldn't refuse. (It turned out to be a gen# 1) They had on hand and gen#4 started production so it was phased out. Would have I waited for the RLD, RSI "made with S.S." or Alu Cab. All three company's products have and do hold up all over Africa's hard use, you can load about 500lbs on the top. The few USA made ones have to be specially ordered to support a high roof loads. Now waiting 6 months or more maybe not. Now the 125-170lbs of weight not a plus with any of them.

Finally got mine, installed it, and so far so good. Apparently there was a mix-up with my order causing unprecedented delay. Sadly RSI was no help and just kept telling me we are making them as fast as we can which I know wasn't right because I heard "its on the next shipment" five times. Finally a sales manager at Northridge 4X4 stepped in a got me one in days!
