I once hauled 18 boxes of oak hardwood flooring in the back of my Overland (about 1,300 lbs) and didn't notice any significant droopage in the rear. The truck handled the weight with aplomb...like it didn't really care it was back there. Mind you, it was a very evenly loaded load. Four boxes across, four boxes high with two across the top. The tailgate was open as the boxes were like 6 1/2 feet long.

That was the first batch I brought home (about 550 sq.ft). A year later, I brought home 1,500 square feet of the same flooring. The bed loaded as above, and a utility trailer loaded the same. It took two trips to get it all home. My Overland handled it all beautifully with no handling issues or feeling like it was struggling with the weight.

Now, I pull a 27' (tongue to bumper) travel trailer with an approximate 450 lb tongue weight and about 5,300 lbs loaded (with appropriate WDH) and don't notice any significant droopage in the rear. No muss, no fuss.
