Only if you get the "max" tow package. On sport s
That's what I thought. I can't find anywhere that says if you have a sport with "non-max tow package" you can now tow more than 4500.

I'm pretty sure sport s with regular tow is 6k max tow 7650. I'm wanting to say no tow package at all is 4 or 4500. There is a chart somewhere with all the data on it with all trims

And it's the same chart as on the specs page here.

You may be on to something there. I do know they said the "best in class towing" is on the base sport not the sport s. It even says it on the build tool when you click info on the base sport. But everyone has said with the sport s with max tow it's 7650. If that's the case that the sport s max tow only gets 6k and only if you get the bare bones sport you get the 7650 max tow then it adds more confusion because even the Rubicon gets 7k with regular tow. I'm as confused as you now lol

Maybe the first chart was wrong?
That's what I'm thinking. Bottom line should be if your sport s has regular tow package your max tow is 6k. It's the same as a overland with regular tow package.

yeah.....not like I really intend to tow 4500 lbs much anyway, but i just thought that was weird.

I got 33" LE wheels/tires on it now, didn't put the Rubicon suspension on yet......not sure if I will or not. Might sell em just to have more money for other stuff.

The Rubicon with tow package is the same as max tow on the sport - the reason it's 7000lbs and not 7600lbs is that it has slightly reduced cooling due to the front skid plate, and larger tires so can't reject heat quite as well. It's outlined in the jalopnik article.

anybody know why the overland with 850RE 8sp and 3.73 axle ratio tow rating is 6,000bls
and Sport with 850RE 8sp and 3.73 axle ratio is only 4,500?
I wonder if the brakes are bigger on Overland i have one but with the regular tow package because there is no max tow on Overland. Anyway my brakes are huge.
