Going to replace my factory LED fogs with either the Diode Dynamics SS3 pros or baja designs squadron sae pocket light kit. Both in amber . Looks like the SS3 mounts exactly like factor while the BD is mounted with the same style brackets as the universal mount brackets . Are the SS3 a better more ridged mount . Any opinions would be appreciated.

I have the SS3 Amber Fogs in my truck but I had to get specific brackets to get them to mount into the Rugged Ridge Arcus Bumper. DD customer service was excellent to work with to get the correct brackets to use after the initial brackets did not work. Just from my experience with the SS3 if I had to do it again I would get the Pro Version over the Sport version.

I got the SS3 Pro fogs in white and the brackets to mount them to the MOPAR steel bumper, very happy with them and they are way better than I expected output wise. No experience with BDs, so can't really compare them, but I don't think you'll be disappointed with the SS3 Pros.

I have the Sport version in amber. Factory stock bumper on a Sport S Ecodiesel. I'd also do it again but get the pro or max version. Customer service was great @Diode Dynamics.

I have the SS3 Pro in amber fogs - mounted in an ARB Bondi Deluxe. Holy crap they are brighter than my highbeams. So far they are holding up well to Minnesota cold and salt. Am thinking about mounting some SS1 or SS2 ditch lights, side floods and one flood in the reflector space in the rear bumper as a manual reverse light. I think you can't go wrong with either but for me +1 for DD SS3s!

What bracket did you use? I plan on eventually adding a RR Arcus to my JT as well as the SS3 Max in amber.

I'll have to double check. They sent me the MS Brackets but those did not work. Had to use the M brackets for the Rubicon if I recall

If I run the pros , will I have to run so kind of relay or will they work with the factory fog light switch.

Plug and play... no relay. Work with the factory switch. If you get the backlight version, you will need to tap into and extra wire, but it's easy.

I write super long posts on this.
You really can see a big difference in how the lens designs change the light output. I love the color and output of the BDs but for my use my SS3 max end up being used much more often. Because they have sharp horizontal cutoff I can run them around town without worrying I was gonna get a ticket (and why they’re SAE compliant). Wide and flat.
BD less controlled, but would prefer them running out in the woods or desert.
I have not tried the BD SAE model, my understanding is they get that designation because the output is low enough to not be too blinding. So I’m not sure how impressed I’d be after having the squadron pros and the SS3 max.

I have Baja Design lights as my ditch lights and like them a lot, they carried over from my last truck. When time comes to upgrade my fogs, I’ll likely go with them again simply because I don’t want the mutt look.

It seems everyone here really like the the DD ones though, they both seem to be quality products so really a toss up for you.
