If it's fixed by re-centering, then it's being unfixed by something that moves.

I'm shocked he didn't mention torque - but then he didn't want to get a time-out.

I'd love to see proof of that if the clamp is properly torqued. The result would absolutely be smashed threads. They can't jump without massive damage to the threads.
People say "they can" but no one has shown one with the flattened threads, or proved it wasn't actually damage to other parts as the real cause.
Threads can't jump - they'd sheer. You'd see that.

I'd bet my 50 ton press would bend that bar before the threads would let go.
You’re spot on. I’ve bent mine several times. Sometimes it’s such a slight bend that I’ll adjust its length. Another time, it was bent enough that I replaced the knuckle end and the middle section.
