I'd have thought that after the TJ doing this and the JK actually having a recall to fix the issue, that Jeep would have fixed the issue.

In the TJ, the cause is the ethanol enriched fuels cause the roll-over check valve ball to swell and then get stuck. I wonder if it's the same in the JT...

Mine does it occasionally but I have isolated it to the gas pumps. Does it only 2 stations locally

Mine only does it at one gas station, I don't go there anymore and haven't had any issues.

Happens at my local Shell Station, but fine at Wawa, 7-11 or on Fort Meade.

70k miles and over 3 years on my 21 Willy's and it burps every time I fill up no matter where I refuel. I just grab paper towels before I start filling up and wipe down the fender every fill up. It is a minor nuisance for my so far otherwise trouble free truck. Can't complain about it to much after seeing many other people's issues that to me would be much worse.

Hmmm, I'm at the point "it's a design feature" :headbang:
I've had it happen with my 91 Comanche, 90, 91 Cherokee's, 05 Wrangler Unlimited, and even today with my Gladiator. In some of gas stations the fuel delivery is to high volume and or agitated with air. I've got to the point of listening for the thump and kick off the pump and it still happens often. Trapped air in tank burps it out since the tank doesn't vent it out fast enough for high flowing pumps at many stations. Some stations are worse than others and how much fuel is in their tanks along with temperature change of fuel from underground storage to vehicle tank. Maybe Jeeps have a more robust roll over valves installed on fuel tanks, that don't vent always as well as other vehicles. 🤷‍♂️ I've definitely seen some on side or rolled not dumping fuel.... personally a time or so. 🙄

My 23 JT Gladiator Overland High Altitude auto stock -- gas spit back at very first fill up--I had to video to get dealership to work on it -- they "fixed" it which lasted about two months -- it is spitting gas again at about 70% of the time -- type of gas and gas stations do not matter --This is using the auto stop lever on the gas nozzle handle and not doing anything else -- I have to wait until a little under half a tank and then only put in 10 gallons to not have it spit gas all over (fender, running boards, shoes, clothes) It really spits a lot out all over most times.
Has anyone actually had this problem truly fixed ??? If yes, please share.

While it was "fixed" my gas mileage dropped to 17 and they said that was not enough to do anything about -- well, it is for me-- I usually get 20 and now that it is spitting gas again mileage is back up to 20

As some posts have stated--it seems pressure related -- I've had the gas cap pop off like a champagne cork-- and when traveling from low southern elevations up to high Rockies elevations, it did not spit gas at the higher elevations at all, but as soon as I was back to southern CO and KS, etc, it started back again-- 3k miles in one week camping trip, so a lot of fill ups.

I should not have to do this or clean up gas or risk catching on fire to video to get a known problem fixed ! This is crazy no matter what you spend on your Jeep -- this should never be an issue ! This is a dangerous consumer issue. To have it a preset option on a survey from Jeep means they know and they have not fixed it and to have the dealership act like I'm doing something wrong. It is becoming very difficult to love my JT --I've had multiple other issues also that some were fixed by dealership--when I managed to video/photo those.
My old TJ has less problems than my new JT --that should not be the case especially since the TJ has 25 years and 180k, but the new JT has 1 1/2 years and 17k. We all have enough to deal with in our daily lives that we need NEW vehicles to work properly !

I currently wait until at least one line below the half full line and then only put in 10 gallons, this so far keeps it from spilling gas out everywhere.
Crazy --think I'm going to sell it--too many issues--hate to because I love it, but man Jeep needs to fix all the issues it has or offer a great buy back/trade in amount.

My Gladiator burped quite a bit of gas out today for the first time in the one year I have owned it. Always fill up when around quarter to half a tank, but today was down to about an eighth before filling up. So not sure if it was due to it being lower on fuel before the fill up or not. Every fill up was at the same station and never did this before.

I have to ask, when you fill do you ever “round up” to the nearest dollar amount after the pump handle has clicked off? Because it’s ok to go up maybe a nickel or two, but any more than that over time can fill the anti-evaporation system up with gas that can ruin the system and raise havoc.

No I don’t round up, when the pump shuts itself off I am done.

Suffered with this with my JK and just kept a big bottle of water under the seat and had it ready on every fill-up. Much to my dismay, it happened to me on my very first JT fill-up which caused me to raise my head to the sky and cry to the cloud covered top of Mount Stellantis "NOOOoooo!!"

I'll probably jinx myself, but so far it has only happened that one time for me.

After reading about this problem here some time back I was thinking I wasn’t going to have this problem because it had never did it. Now 1 year and 6,000 miles later it happened. It is aggravating for sure to have gas gushing out like that.
