I know some of you have a stinger head unit. After much research, i keep circling back around to it for what it claims to be factory integration.

Can someone hit me with all the pros and cons?
Does anything get lost in the shuffle Uconnect wise or steering wheel control wise that is "important"?

I currently have the 7" screen but have upgraded speakers and a powered sub already.
Im also not afraid of this install, i have done many, but never had a stinger product.

I have a Stinger unit in my Gladiator. The only thing that I am aware of centers on Sirus - I don't see the album covers. Not a big issue, but some reviews dislike not seeing the art. Otherwise, it's a great unit.

All steering wheel controls work fine. My wife laughs that I know have 2 volume nobs.

I paid some guys I trust to install the head unit for me and they said it was a pain getting everything in there.

In addition to the head unit, I added a bluetooth adapter so I can have wireless carplay. If anything is annoying its that, but nothing that is a deal breaker.

Good luck - it's definitely worth the upgrade.

I dont plan on keeping Sirius, Its ok, but im primarily a Spotify user, and for Nav i usually use Waze.
I didn't realize it wasn't wireless android auto/carplay... I do like that feature, as ive had it in 2 previous head units in other vehicles but i dont knwo if its worth the price difference between the HEIGHT10 and HORIZON10.

The Bluetooth adapter plugs into the USB in the center console. You shouldn't have any issues with it. I use Waze as well and have no issues. I am not familiar with the Horizon10, but the stereo people I 've worked with on several past vehicles all speak very highly of the stinger unit.

I have a Stinger Heigh 10 and love it! It is far superior to the OEM you have now. I have a thread on here about the custom install I had done. https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...terday-custom-sound-system-is-just-wow.66434/
Oh hey neighbor! Catonsville here.

Read through your thread. Funny how nobody really knows what GOOD sound costs as opposed to having Best Buy install a Sony Xplod "system" for $800 and possibly nick a wire. Back in the day (23 years ago, ouch!) I worked for Tweeter, Etc doing home and car audio sales. It wasn't uncommon to have a client who really wanted good sound in their vehicle to drop $5-7K without blinking. If they wanted video? Add a couple grand.

Hell, I think back to what I had in my MkIV Jetta at the time and it was nuts. I had at any given time between $4-5K in retail value in gear that was endlessly being swapped out for better.

@OP:

Stinger seems to be pretty reputable and doesn't have the random miscellaneous issues the white box Chinesium stereos can have. I have a white box in my e46 and it works... okay. Not anywhere near as reliable as a factory radio though.

Catonsville ... just minutes away from me.

Stinger Heigh 10 - I can't recommend it enough! I've never had problems with mine. It does everything the factory units do PLUS more.
