I’ll have to give that a go next spring (need to sort out a setup for door storage). I leave mine in the garage with the roof panels off and windows down, so sans doors wouldn’t be much of a stretch.

I need to get a flip back roof panel one of those days. I get caught in the rain without the panels on the reg.

No biggie here. 10-15 mins and open air! I just need to find a really good storage solution for my rear roof. It would be naked all the time.

Yep, ALL the time in the TJ especially! I was rained on 3 times this year in TJ... but then Easter weekend the doors and sides came off, and are still in garage...

Have only had the JT open once this year, it's a pain to remove the top when 1. there is no one to assist, and 2. there is nowhere good to store it...

So so many times. Why the drain plugs have been out since purchased on both. ?

I only know where one drain plug is for the TJ. JT still has plugs, and has only been wet inside once...

I played around a lot with this over the spring and summer. I have a hard top truck.

I've never removed the top.
But all spring I took off the freedom panels.

Then when June rolled around I took off the doors. Then when it got hot, I put the freedom panels back in. I spent most of the summer with the top on and the doors off.

I found the following were hugely helpful in allowing me to "stay stripped"

1) garage - my truck lived inside when I wasn't out driving it. So I didn't need to worry about putting it back together over night.

2) Second vehicle to use - If we got a few days of rain, when the doors were off I just rode my bike to many places or took my wife's car. My truck was in the garage with the doors off, waiting for sun. (like it is now)

3) Rain Gear Covers cab cover. This cover was always in the back when I was away from home with the doors or roof off. I can't comment on leakage with the top off, but I installed it over the hard top with the doors off every night when I was away this summer. (a total of about a month). It got rained on several times and never any problems or leakage.

4) This may be an unpopular choice, but I was able to buy a used Bestop Sunrider this summer. I have used it a lot this fall. Its just another thing that makes it easier to open it up because its much much easier to close than it is to put the freedom panels back in.

With this stuff I've been able to open it up a lot, probably 90% of the time I've driven it since May and only been rained on (in) once.

I hope this helps.

so you literally can just disconnect electrical, open up the door and lift it off? Yeah that would make for a quick strip down!
Yep. Especially if you have a sport with manual windows - then there's no electrical to worry about. Door catch and wiring harness come off in March then all summer long it's just 3 minutes to pop the doors off to the storage cart and slip out the rear window.

This was the third summer for me and it's still one of the greatest features of the truck.

I need to get one of those for sure. In MI it could be 85 and sunny 1 minute and 60 and raining the next! I definitely need some “rain gear” in case I am caught out.

I ordered at soft top for ease and I will order the Best Top soft doors next spring......gonna be riding around like a M998 HMMV as much as possible.......the sole reason I went with a Mojave over the new '23 Colorado ZR2......I will miss that 430ftlbs tho
I just recently got 2 Soft Doors for the Front. Keep them in the bed of the truck in case I have to put them on. Those along with the Soft top I been having make it quick work till it gets really cold.
In search of some good quick off foot pegs. Think I might have found some on Etsy that sit lower than most of the one's I have seen and will come off quickly if I need to remove them

Nope. These trucks are adult Legos.
I swap from naked to overland as need be.

Honest question. Does stripping down your truck ever get old? I just bought mine and all I want to do is get naked every weekend. …sorry, honey ?

Now I just have to figure out the best way to store everything and still get in the garage.

Darn sure you are N. of the Mason Dixon line with "it could be 85 and sunny" that's early spring for some of us the 60 is winter weather. :giggle:;) I really remember why I'm not living in mid-west anymore.

Nothing more fun then taking the doors off and flipping the top back and enjoying the weather and open air! Mine came with a hard top and soft top, but the hard top was off the 1st week and it's been the soft top every since! And man did they do a much better job with these new soft tops compared to the older versions!

I love it. I have my wife time me like they do pit crews in racing. Best time to take off is 3 minutes (excluding putting on the mirrors) and 4 minutes 15 seconds to put back on.
