Reading through my owners manual, it says only the center dash port is usable for data, the rest of the USB ports are charging only. So, even if I got one of those wireless Android Auto adapters, I'd still have to have it hanging out of the dash, vs. putting it in the console?

I can't speak to any adapters, but I run a USB cable to my center console, from which I use Android Auto for my Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra. Data and all other functions work just fine. I have also tried it from the center console, and it works the same. My recollection (when I read the owner's manual) is that for the rear ports, the left can be used for charging/data, and the right is charging only (I think). I have a 2020 Overland, but don't know if charging/data options are different on other models.
