I am going to try the 2 piece Alien Shades, and leave the side bungees off of the front shade. They say to do so with the air bags. I think I should be able to keep them installed and leave the bolt holes open for the Sun Rider. I'll post the results when I get them installed.Papa, my Alien sunshade installs with bungee cords that go over the installed Sunrider arms. You work around assist handles if installed. I have handles and side window fold down visors and I make it all work.
Interesting - so a shade can be installed after the sunrider is installed....?Papa, my Alien sunshade installs with bungee cords that go over the installed Sunrider arms. You work around assist handles if installed. I have handles and side window fold down visors and I make it all work.
Because the Sunrider only has the 2 windshield header latches you don’t have the hassle of needing to reach the other latches on the hard T-Tops. I just have to tug the front edge of mesh down just a bit to clear the header latches. Easy peasey.Interesting - so a shade can be installed after the sunrider is installed....?
It would make it a slightly more painful process installing and removing, but if you only did that spring and fall, not a biggy.
I liked the SpiderWeb Sunshade, but it made unlatching the tops a pain in the butt and slowed down removal and install a bit - especially if you were in a huge hurry because of a massive record storm coming at you fast.
I just want a nice webbing up there, like the sunshade was, covering the whole area that's exposed when the sunrider is open, and allows access to the sunrider latches. I'm unlikely to open and close it on the fly even moving slowly. I'm more of a "do it at a rural stop sign when there's no one stuck waiting behind me" type. If I can reach out an open window and then latch it inside once close and not fight the screen, that's cool.
I went back and found your post indicating which "mesh" you have -Because the Sunrider only has the 2 windshield header latches you don’t have the hassle of needing to reach the other latches on the hard T-Tops. Hope they come in GREEN to match this - I let the Spiderweb sunshade go with the 2022 when I traded it because the blue just wouldn't go well with the green theme I have going now.I install an Alien mesh top in the sunrider opening after swapping T-Tops for Sunrider. Works well knocking down direct sunlight and lessens wind noise. ( Have to pull over for phone conversation if on highway). I
Can still sit in drivers seat and open and close Sunrider by pulling down front edge of mesh top to latch/unlatch Sunrider and use my long arm to raise/lower top.
The combination works well for me, not difficult or time consuming to switch out for t- tops when winter beckons.
I assume it's like the Spiderweb sunshade - you have to fold the windshield down and attach clips to the frame behind the windshield to hold the front edge of the shade in place? The Alien shade works great with my sunrider. Not sure how it would do without the side bungies.
Getting to the clasps can be a little tricky but not too bad. I only ordered the front and wish I'd gotten the rear as I cant seem to purchase it separately. Going on 3 years of pretty heavy use and its held up great.

My instructions talked about clips , but did not include any in the package, instead sent a bungee installation tool. The tool is basically a length of plastic you envelop the end the bungee with to pull it through the areas you would have to drop the windshield and maybe remove the back part of the hardtop to push the bungee through. Very easy, no lowering, no removal of rear roof section.I assume it's like the Spiderweb sunshade - you have to fold the windshield down and attach clips to the frame behind the windshield to hold the front edge of the shade in place?
Thanks - looks like a way to go that will be totally compatible with Sunrider or even with just the "freedom panels".My instructions talked about clips , but did not include any in the package, instead sent a bungee installation tool.
