Sunpie Door Cupholder Install

Just a quick write up on installing the Sunpie cupholders in the front doors of my ‘26 JT. I got mine direct from Sunpie, link below:

These cup holders were on sale a few weeks back and I had been looking for a door cupholder of some sort. Given the sale price I figured I’d try them out and see how they went

They are basic plastic cupholders that fit on to the end / corner of your door pockets and provide a “cup” bump out to hold a drink. Nothing fancy, but they looked promising to get the job done. See below:

You can get cupholders for all 4 doors, or just a front set or just a rear set. I got just a front set, so 2 cupholders.

They install via the OEM screw at the bottom of the door pocket and then an additional screw up on the side that you have to tap through the plastic. At least on my 2026 JT I had to. Lastly, there is sticky adhesive around the edge of the cupholder so you can stick that onto the door pocket as well for extra support.

Removing the door pocket net is optional, I left mine alone. Below is how my door pocket looked before the install:

The install was very easy and quick. Remove the OEM screw at the bottom of the door pocket, place cupholder, replace OEM screw and then use additional side screw and / or adhesive as needed. Looks pretty neat and tidy when done:

Repeat on the passenger side door:

As I am a big guy and the JT drivers seat / area is already a bit cramped I was worried about something encroaching on the little space I had.

However, I usually have my left leg stretched out on my dead pedal and so the cupholder actually is close enough to the front seat that it doesn’t intrude on the leg space I have under the steering wheel that I could notice. So that is a plus and makes me happy, as now I won’t have to remove it in a few days because it’s bugging me.

Interesting setup for a cupholder for sure. Probably won’t work with my plans but it looks to be a solid option to increase bottle holding capabilities.

Yes it’s a decent size too. Now that I’ve had it installed a few days it still seems decently out of my leg’s way for my uses / daily driving.

Mine is a '22 and the nets look new. I keep pretty light stuff in them, though. Plastic bags in the rear doors, can coozies and napkins in the front doors.
