We all know you can use the Freedom panels without the back portion of the hardtop installed... Does anyone know if it’s possible with the SunRider top??

Good question. I'd be interested to know the answer as well.

I swear there's a post around here saying this is not an option. The Bestop more or less attaches to the rear hardtop.

Apparently you can. Bestop stated you can in a post I read on the JL forum. There are six bolts that hold the SunRider frame to the roll cage. The rearmost two attach to the hardtop. Supposedly you can run the SunRider with just the other four bolts attached and no hardtop.

I like the idea of running the only the SunRider as it folds back and basically sits on the speaker bar. 99% topless. If it starts to rain, a simply unfolding of the SunRider and you at least cover up the front seats and dash area. And with the doors on you would get a fairly water tight front seat area quickly and easily without dealing with a complete softtop system.
