Can't say other than what I've read from tech papers, and what I was told here after they investigated the accident that killed Dad and determined what the charges would be.The software can determine that speeding was involved and it would be noted as a contributing factor in determining fault, but to my knowledge you can't be cited for speeding based off of that. I know from an attorney in the family that's how it works here. Could vary by state but I've still never seen it.
Interesting, they would not determine charges for the guy until after the full investigation and accident reconstruction then determined what he was to be charged with. Since they determined he was within the speed limit, he wasn't charged with that, but was charged with failure to maintain control, driving on the incorrect side of a highway and another charge I can't instantly recall.
