I recently installed a TeraFlex trackbar (with proper torque specs). The trackbar has movement in the frame side of the install (see video). This is causing some noise when driving. I’ve reached out to TeraFlex and I’m waiting on an answer. Anyone else have this issue?

well I guess I can’t attach a video. Ugh!

I can’t make it any tighter. It was torqued to specifications.

Here is the response by TeraFlex;

Bill,

After further review, your track bar appears to be functioning as designed and that movement is acceptable. The noise will likely reduce or even go away with continued use and with all of the information you've provided, the trackbar is covered under warranty if there ever is an issue with premature ware are breakage. I would recommend installing it on the vehicle, verify the torque specifications on the frame and axle side and make sure that they are still at spec. The IR bushing allows for some movement as designed and with the video you provided, that is what is shown. If you have any other questions, please let me know but I assure you that with the information you've provided, it is functioning as designed.

You mean you won't tighten it anymore because of the given specs or you physically can't make it any tighter.

Seems odd to me. Since the video didnt work does it just move or can you see space between the bolt?

I’ll upload when I get home. And I can’t physically tighten any further.

It does not look right to me. For control arms, I was always taught that the mounting tabs should be super tight on the joints..., and the joints themselves should flex... I always assumed the same for track bars, but, I do not know... I do not like how the whole track bar is loose between the mounting tabs.. You would think that when you torqued it down, it would completely close the gap between the joint and mounting tabs.

Mine is the same way...it is the IR joint. Haven‘t had any issues yet and I check torque frequently.

Hey brother. So does it make noise like mine? Does it make noise when you go over bumps?

thanks for the reply.

it makes a little clunk just like the drag link and tie rod do from lateral movement. To be honest though...the music is usually turned up and I don’t hear a thing .

Teraflex is aware of this, they’ll send another one but it’ll do the same thing, then they’ll tell you it’s normal design. I even had someone at teraflex say torque to 150. It actually moves in the brackets frame and axle side. Best of luck, you’ll see many talk about it on fb pages and JL forum

I returned it after their email said that I should get used to it over time. No thanks. I’ll try Core 4x4.
