500 mile update.

Just pulled my diffs apart. 500 miles. Gears look good and are meshing well. No noise to worry about. One update that is more ARB locker specific but I dumped the Royal Purple and changed to regular 85w140 oil. The seals in the ARB can go bad with Royal Purple due to friction modifier they use. Best to use regular oil in diffs with ARB.

After I changed the oil I threw some new diff covers on to complete the build.

Great vid as always. Any consideration about going 5.13 especially since you have very little highway driving? Would they have made the truck even more responsive.

Great vid as always. Any consideration about going 5.13 especially since you have very little highway driving? Would they have made the truck even more responsive.
I personally think its preference. You will get some more acceleration but a smaller pinion head. Even if its slightly smaller and therefore less strong, it leave less error for material hardening and shock loads. I'm a 4.88 guy personally. The 8 speed is so good, no need for a super deep gear unless you are a dedicated crawler.
