All options except these pre-negotiated deals here are a waste of time. Most dealers are clueless and don't want to leave money on the table. Their strategy is to find your budget. Don't fall for it. They invite you in so they can have a pressure session and bring you a bunch of different prices to gauge what you're comfortable with (budget)

I do have this evil thought in my head that I make them go through the trouble for an hour+ computing some builds and then I just simply get up and walk out. :D

You can do that but ultimately you're wasting your time with people that don't get it. You can build your own on the website. The pricing will be within $2K as the website isn't updated to 2022 configurator yet.

We’ll that was quick, local dealer wouldn’t budge below invoice, so much for buying local
Every dealer local to me wouldn’t even budge from MSRP. And in fact, some of the wanted above MSRP.

Sucks for them. This is the second $60,000 vehicle I bought in two years. And I’m sure I’ll replace my Mohave with another expensive vehicle in the next two or three years

I will go ahead and give my business to the people who have treated me right with my Gladiator.

I've even reached out to another dealer here, sounds like for them selling at 6% under invoice means selling at a loss. Here is the odd thing- nobody even tried negotiating with me. Strange. It's like I have to take-it-or-leave-it with their deal and they assume I'm the same way on my side. When I bought my Gladiator two years ago, it was the exact opposite.

Oh yeah Virginia is def cheap on that sales tax!
Unfortunately if you bought in VA I am fairly certain you'd still have to pay 6.5% since it's where you register the vehicle. The DMV would get you when you bring it back and register.
I'm working on ordering a JT and was thinking of ordering out of state to get better deal. Do you end up paying taxes twice when purchasing out of state. Once in state purchased and when registering in your state?

You pay taxes to the state where you will be titling the vehicle.

Yes, when you leave Gupton no sales taxes are charged.

Then when you register it in your home state, you will have to pay the taxes out of pocket at that time.

So if your state charges 6% on a 60k vehicle, you heed to have $3600 available. So make sure you have it. When you do these out of state deals, you can't roll sales tax into the financing. Its not a big deal. But if you have 20k to put down, you should put down 16,400 and reserve the 3600 for taxes.

As of yesterday this thread became a moot point... I bought a MY2021 Hydro Blue Rubicon :like: I got the Rock-Trac full time 4x4 transfer case that I wanted, plus most of the other bells and whistles you guys all have (LED lights, Alpine stereo, leather seats, etc)

Decent deal on price, received just about what I paid for in my 2020 Sport S as a trade, so I pulled the trigger.

Congratulations. Did you end up ordering or did you find what you wanted locally?
local; I really didn't want to wait out 8-12 weeks order time so finding off the lot was always a goal for me

and the same dealer I bought my first Gladiator from had JTR stock inbound with all the options I wanted so I targeted that vehicle and then completed the deal last week before any other interested parties showed up
