My father-in-law has a Ridgeline. On paper, it's a superior vehicle in every way, except offroad capability and towing capacity.

In practice, it is indeed roomier, quieter, and more efficient.

And it also just so, so dull.

100% spot on. And, I've had three brand new Ridgelines (2011, 2014, 2017) and 2 brand new Gladiators (2020, 2021).

I've owned a Ridgeline. I kept it for a few years, but I like to make a vehicle my own and it was limited with the Ridgeline. I changed the wheels and that was about it, but it was a few years back. The ride was smoother, and we did take it on a few trips from VA to FL a few times without any issues and it was comfortable. I did like the trunk area, but like others have mentioned it was dull. Dull is not an issue if that is what you want, but it was not for me. They have added a few decals, wheels, and few other features.

I’ve been in the Jeep family for the past 11 years and owned 2 JKU's (still own one) and when I stepped into the Gladiator, I just knew I was home. I've only had my JTR for a few months, but I did pull a large U-Haul trailer, packed with college apartment furniture from Richmond, VA to Blacksburg, VA. I honestly didn't notice trailer being behind me, except when it was empty on the trip back. The trailer was lite and liked to bounce. I never tried pulling anything with the Ridgeline, because at that time I owned a 94 Ford Bronco, and it did all of the pulling for me.

You'll enjoy the Ridgeline, but if you are going anywhere near off the beaten track, I'd stick with the Gladiator.

I think the better comparison is: Do you want a Honda Pilot truck, or a Jeep Wrangler truck. I chose a gladiator because taking the doors and top off were a priority for me.

Like I mentioned, I was rear ended. Slammed by a Ford F-250 Super Duty. It totaled my Mojave and I am injured. This is what made me start looking at other vehicles with 5 star safety ratings and more safety features. My outlook has been altered. The smoother ride of the Ridgeline may just be what I need going forward.

Why not look at a Ranger, or Colorado? Nothing wrong with wanting a Honda, I personally don’t like them though. I had a 2016 Honda accord coupe, and the plastic inside would rub and squeak. It drove me insane, my wife never heard the squeaking though. Traded it for a charger the next year and never regretted it.
