I'll check tomorrow and see if the sway bars are disconnecting or not. So far the only issue I have had is the ESS not working.

Does anyone know a source for the wiring connectors? Or a part number? I can't find them anywhere online. I may check the local junkyards for a 2017 or 2018 Wrecked Wrangler and see if I can cut one off and reuse it. If I can't find one I'll probably just have to by-pass the connector and splice in another type of connector for the damaged wire.
imasked for a part number, but they don’t have them for the wires or connectors... the junkyard is a good idea, I am Thinking of ordering these from Quadratec... they look like they should do the trick.

CCCVagabond - I checked today and my sway bar disconnect and reconnect is fine and my lockers are working also. I am not seeing any issues other than the ESS does not work and it throws a DCT code.
I also checked with some salvage yards and nobody had any 2018 or newer Wrangler JLs or Gladiators. I did find a 2018 JL dash instruments harness on E-Bay for $126.00 so I went ahead and bought it and a pin removal tool set. I plan on removing the 34 wire female connector from the used harness and installing it on my harness. Hopefully that will resolve my issue and keep everything as close to original as possible.

good luck! sounds a bit more complicated than splicing a wire, but will be curious how it works out.. let us know!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I thought I’d post a small hint I haven’t seen elsewhere.

The female wiring harness for the orange wire has a white safety tab that needs pulled up with a small screwdriver before you can fully insert the connector into the harness.

I didn’t find that detail written anywhere, and for me at least, it was an epiphany moment. Maybe it helps someone else.

I had to give up on this part. I did not know that. I ended up T-tapping the orange wire. It';s worked fine so far. I do wish it had gone right. Funny thing is all I read before I installed them said getting through the firewall was the hardest part. I did that first and it was easy. Thought I was home free, WRONG. Almost thought the walk of shame into the dealer was needed. LOL

I also thought getting through the firewall was much easier than what others had written. But when I first powered everything back up, I had error codes, no lights on the switches, no 12v on the aux leads, etc. I used the Tazer, and I had the new aux settings available in the Uconnect. That’s when I knew it was this orange wire.
I went back and pulled it out again, and that’s when I discovered the white tab… my female connector wasn’t fully seated originally (never heard it click).
But in reality, I’ve never seen why theres an extra harness / connector for that wire anyways. So I doubt you’ll ever have trouble with just t-tapping it. :like:
