Jeep Gladiator Thoughts on this JKS lift kit? IMG_1842

was looking around and came across this kit… new to the Jeep world but I for sure want to lift my jt rubicon… aside from this kit what else would I need to add or do with it? One video I watched a guy mentioned brackets to keep the geometry close to Jeep spec in the front end… I’m not seeing those brackets in the pic, also would I need them in the rear as well? Apologies for the super green question I’m still learning

Depends who you ask
Honestly spend some time reading through the forums including the Wrangler forum before doing a lift. I'm no expert but I think if your going over two inches your going to want longer and or adjustable control arms.

That’s what I meant by the extension brackets… the video I was watching explained the need them…

Front control arm drop brackets are a way to keep the front control arms in the same orientation as stock and eliminate the need for adjustable arms. As you lift the frame with longer springs arms start to form a downward orientation that reduces caster and can increase impact jolts into the cabin. That is, rather than the arms just moving up, they also give a slight backward jolt. The downside to the brackets is they put the arms in a position where they can take impacts from ledges & rocks. My experience, they are worthwhile over about 3” of lift, below that the returns are minimal.

If I opted for 2 inch lift would any of these brackets and arms be necessary?

I sent you a PM. I’ve got a lot of personal experience with this lift on a Rubicon.

And don’t ever apologize for green questions. That’s what this forum is for. When I selected this lift in December of ‘21, I was green as green could be. My current knowledge is largely due to people on this forum, and of course the desire to do things myself and understand my vehicle.

There are better ways to fix geometry without drip brackets that don’t require adjustable arms, incredibly dependent on your goals for your build. I personally am not a fan of drop brackets whatsoever. Extra connections to loosen up and get caught on things.

Howdy! Also very new to the world of jeep and lifting things. I ordered the JKS 3 - 3.5 J-Kontrol standard coil w/ Fox 2.5s.

Having a hard time finding install guide anywhere. anyone know where I can find it? id like to be able to look it over before the lift arrives next week.

At some point, other variables come into play, like drive lines, caster, pinion angle, regearing, stronger axles, aluminum/steel steering boxes, and whether or not you have steel knuckles. I’m assuming that you’re looking to throw on larger/heavier tires

so, aside from the pics above, I’ve seen some kits ( like Clayton ) that have a slight bend in their front control arms to limit/prevent rubbing.

depending on what your intended use is, you may even want to look at long arm kits.

for some folks to give you a more clear answer, you may need to provide more context info, about your use cases and full vision/plan for your build.
