What are the thoughts on using a mater install kit or just replacing the ring and pinion? Pros and cons. The reason I ask is because I just assumed that if you are going from say (D44) 4.10 gears to 5.13 you would need the master rebuild kit. When I called a shop to get a quote he quoted me $2600 and that was for the ring and pinion install. Seems pretty steep for just ring and pinion and not the full master rebuild kit. Curious as to what people with more experience than myself have to say.
