I’m looking to get new rubber on my ‘22 Mojave. I’m currently on an AEV 2” spacer lift and I’m on 35x12.5x18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I would like to go up to 37” for the extra inch of clearance and because I think they proportionally look great, especially since I have 18” wheels…
I’m between the three listed options:
35x12.5x18 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT
37x12.5x18 Toyo Open Country R/T Trail
37x12.5x18 BF Goodrich KO3 AT
They’ve all got some pros and cons.
The Baja Boss are on here cause so many people seem to rave about them and they loo fantastic. It looks like they don’t make a 37 for an 18 wheel, but I could live with a 35, plus I don’t plan on re gearing any time soon. The down side is 35” and they weigh in at 74 lbs each. Now my current Nittos are 75 so that’s not terrible, but lighter would never hurt.
The toyos also have a great look to them, and they come in 37. They are the priciest of the bunch, not that that is necessarily a huge issue but definitely a consideration. They’re also 74 lbs each, and 37 so a lot of mass to rotate at a longer radius.
The Ko3s are the lightest and cheapest of the bunch at 69 lbs, so only 5 lbs each, but I imagine it all adds up. I don’t know. They’re the least aggressive looking but will behave better most likely on the highway.
This is my DD and trail rig.
Now I know that ideally I’d regear, but I’m not interested for the time being. I also like in the Phoenix valley, AZ so things are pretty flat. I also previously owned a 2020 sport s max tow that had 37 ridge grapplers previously. It did fine so I’m not terribly worried about that for now.
