Just for fun, I've never seen the two side by side.

On the left is the stock rear (passenger) D44 axle shaft from my 05 TJ Rubicon. On the right is a new M220 rear (passenger) axle shaft for my '22 JT Rubicon EcoDiesel.

Just found this interesting as people continue to suggest the new Advantek axles are the same as the old D44s and can only handle up to a 35" tire.

Without a doubt. My 04 TJ looks tiny compared to my old JK’s, and more so next to my Gladiator. I still LOVE my TJ!

So you've got a spare 220 axle shafts setting around. Funny I've got one of my TJ's axle shafts that I know where it is the other is mis-layed in my shed. One is still setting next to the hydraulic press to replace the damn seal and bearing. I don't want to do it because one is good the other seal is bad and I don't want to replace the wrong one. :headbang:
Back to the thread, yeah it's nuts to think. But the new thing is hammer on it till it goes or breaks. Or "look at me". Oddly many kept D30's and D35's intact running 35's and or 37's in the past. I was looking at a JK a few days ago and thinking damn that front axle tube is small.
