Tonneau cover might not lock!

I was watching a YouTube video when I saw this. Hopefully this is not true. This Gladiator is a pre production model and the tonneau is slightly different, as you can see the straps are yellow instead is red. Check out this video at 2:28.

Bestop confirmed it locks, also I posted the Doug demur video, he talks specifically about it locking.......this "probably" isn't an issue.

The tonneau cover itself does not lock. It latches down, and the tailgate must be opened to unlatch it. The tailgate does lock.

I'm thinking to make plywood rear half-doors (so my kids don't fall out). Probably cost less than $100 with hardware. And... I just found this pic 2 seconds ago!
