Just landed my first EH Taylor Small Batch and Old Fitzgerald 8yr decanter. Hoping to score a Taylor Barrel Proof and a BTAC WLW in the next week, since its allocation season here in Michigan.I learned to drive in a 56 chevy truck. Straight 6 with a 4 on the floor and both the high beam and starter being on the floor. Remember, as a kid, how hard it was to shift from 2nd to third because of how far the shifter had to go and how small I was.
Ha, I know exactly what you mean. Driving straight you sorta kept moving the steering wheel a little left/a little right to stay straight. But I have also driven one that had it's suspension totally redone with new kingpins, modern tie rods, etc and the difference was a true WOW moment. They drove very good back in the day when they were new, of course given that it was 65 years ago. After learning to drive that truck, I don't get what people are complaining about the Jeep's "loose" steering, feels tight to me. LOL
It was only about 15 years old when I was learning to drive in it.Ha, I know exactly what you mean. Yup. I can relate. They were just old cars to us. Got my license in 1970. My dad's purchased-new '55 two door hardtop was equivalent to say a 2006 Impala today. Just an old car.It was only about 15 years old when I was learning to drive in it.
I'm truly amazed at everones talent had to show your my 1st watch project here recently. I turned the dial from a piece of semychan meteorite, etched and fire blued it. Then set it in a bronze case with a Seiko automatic movement. I think I'm hooked on this watch thing, and Jeeps, and guns, and old lanterns.Last project I worked on. Circa 1939 rolex. I'm sure all catch some heat for destroying the dial

Been a fan of the auto 5 since I bought my first watch after I got my first paycheck from a real job that I got when I was 15 years old. Still have the watch (not keeping good time now but still ticks). That was in 1974.I'm truly amazed at everones talent had to show your my 1st watch project here recently. MAN, if I were a little younger I'd REALLY want one of these. Hell what am I saying, I REALLY want one now! I just turned 67 so if I fell while learning to use it I'd probably be like a bag of broken sticks.I've recently discovered how fun off-roading is with this thing. Jumping over logs, riding through the mud, carving, hunting, it's all good. Ridiculously fun.
