TPMS change?

I've noticed some websites asking if the build date on a Gladiator was before or after June 2021, and for example I now see some listings of TPMS sensors as being for build dates of before/after June 2021. Does anyone know if there is an actual change in compatibility with the TPMS sensors here? For example, does this mean that a Gladiator build in October wouldn't pick up the TPMS sensors from a set of wheels off an earlier (say 2020) gladiator?

For that matter, has anyone seen a general chart of TPMS sensor compatibility? I could have sworn that someone said they were able to use the TPMS sensors in a set of JK wheels with their Gladiator/JL.

Correct. Pre June 21 sensors will not communicate with post June built Jeeps. I believe they are a different manufacturer. I’ve seen a photo of the 2 side by side somewhere but don’t have it handy.

Jk sensors are the same and will work if your jeep was built prior to the June cutoff. Otherwise they will not.

A different manufacturer doesn't surprise me, but it does seem a little odd to me that they switched to a different type that actually required a change to the receiver(s) in the vehicle.

Ultimately just an annoyance for those buying take-off wheel/tire combos, and probably a headache for the parts department at the dealerships.

It might have had to do with the chip shortage, because on another thread, it was also noticed that the new sensors don't support select tire fill alert.

Due to the chip shortage, they eliminated the separate Tire Pressure module and put the TPM system in the Radio Frequency Hub Module.

Neither the legacy or new system is compatible with either. Like mentioned, SFTA went away also.
