So a live, 5th sensor in the spare will not mess with the system? Think maybe I need to do more research on how the tpms detects location.
Nope, a lot of us run matching spares - I run 5 matching tires and wheels all with TPMS sensors. No issues.

Also have heard people positioning their 5th sensor in the spare such that’s closest to the license plate when tucked under the bed, to keep it further away from the actual wheel sensors.
Doesn't matter a lick, it can't matter because that sensor goes to sleep in a few minutes. None of us have ever had a spare interfere. In fact, some vehicles come factory with a matching spare - with TPMS.

I put on a new set of tires and wheels and didn’t bother putting them in. Used the tazer to turn it off. Old school is better to me. That’s what a tire gauge is for.
If you did it, fine, if a shop did it, they are violating federal law and if you have a blow-out and cause an accident, it comes back on the shop.
It's another thing there's a good reason for - you have no clue while you are driving along if that tire is going to cause you trouble (as Firestone, Ford and others have found out)
Sure, you check your tires - but then you drive 60 minutes and hit something that is going to cause trouble - do get out every 15 minutes and check your tires?

I guess some don't get how things happen and the reason for TPMS to begin with.

Well I guess I don’t get how my dad went his whole life to this day without them either. Wow just wow lol that’s a little petty. I don’t worry about small stuff like that I have to much else to worry about. Thanks for your opinion though ?

ps: I actually have been known to get out every 15 minutes to check tires. That why my wife hates road trips with me .

Yup, had to taze mine, set the psi to 25. I'll disable the tpms all together for doing 5 tire rotations soon, hopefully find a good deal on some new rims in the up coming weeks.
I did and

Mine does the same. One tire at 33psi is an issue, but the other 3 are ok...lol. Ram has a button you can press to relearn the tpms threshold on 3/4 ton trucks. I wish Jeep did the same thing.

It is called "over engineering" which of course is endemic in our society today throughout the auto industry and pretty much in any consumer goods segment which has even a hint of electronics in it.

Some automation is good, it does not imply that automating "everything" is good...Excellent engineering finds that sweet spot to get the proper benefit without becoming overly annoying.

That tire Nanny is a PITA...Informing us that the tire pressure is low (by factory standards) is GOOD, not having the ability to shut the Nany up with a press of a button until you raise the tire pressure north of 37 PSI is not-good. One example of "zillions" in today's auto's.

Mine did the same thing, drove me nuts. I like the ride and handling at about 34 psi, which meant every cool morning the TPMS would go off when one or more wheels were at 32. Got a Taser and now it doesn’t bother me anymore, I think it’s set to go off at 28 now.
