So i see a lot of people asking about different TPMS sensors. my question is, do you have to run them? besides the annoying light on the dash is the truck going to spontaneously combust if i put wheels on that don't have the sensors?

I was getting tires mounted on new rims and the place couldn't get the TPMS sensors to connect to my car. I told them to just install the tires witout them and I'd bring it to another shop to get OEM sensors put in.

The guys was like "oh my god, that is dangerous. You can't do that". He was like 25. I told him that I had driven for 30 years witout them, I think a week or two won't hurt.

With that said, I have horrible luck with flats and on 2 occasions I got a TPMS warning before I felt anything. That is a good thing because I was able to drive on and pick a good place to pull over.

Your Jeep picks up the sensors after you start driving. The reading just after you start it is most likely from the last drive.

You can turn off tpms system with the Jscan too. Jscan is much less expensive than Tazer
