Hey guys I’m new here, bought my 2021 sport s back in September. I bought a set of wheels and ties from Mr wheel deal. I purchased new tpms, and was under the impression that they are self learning, at least that was how it was in my daughters JL. But the Gladiator is not recognizing the sensors. Has any one had this issue, and is it possible that it will need a relearn. I have friend that has the scan tools for Jeep. Just nervous I have an issue. Also I see on my packing slip it says 2020 Gladiator. That can’t be the problem right?

Well, you can't go back to the tire shop and have them check for problems.

Did you actually get TPMS or just valve stems?
Did they break the TPMS while installing tires on wheels?
Did they actually use OEM or compatible TPMS on your wheels?

Still have old wheels and tires? If so, reinstall and see if they are picked up.

If they aren't picked up, then you probably have an issue.

If they are picked up, it's the new stuff and you need to peel the rubber off and see what you have.

If it’s the right part, the Jeep should recognize them after driving a short distance at speeds around 40mph. I think there was a part change in mid 2020 though to account for the implementation of the tire fill alert system.

I got the wheels and tires delivered mounted and balanced. So that’s what I was afraid of. I’m going to check with the dealer just in case they can program them. It not I may have to break both sets down and take the sensors out of the old wheels. Urgh

If your friend has the scan tool then have him check... I put a new oem Tpms in my 5th wheel and had the same issue - so had to have it energized at the dealer before it was detected. you may be in the same boat.

I don’t know that you can do anything with a J-scan but turn the system off or change the low pressure thresholds. I don’t know of a “learn” feature.

I purchased 4 new tires wheels and sensors. The gladiator see’s the front sensors but never see’s the back. I swapped the front and back tires and had the same problem so I know that all the sensors work. Went to the dealer and they took a look at it and said it was because they weren’t OEM sensors. I decided to remove the pressure monitor option using flashcal instead of dealing with having them swapped out.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I’m going to check tomorrow.

Back when I had the 2016 JK, I picked up a set of JL Rubi wheels for it without sensors. I bought a set of tires and TPMS sensors at Discount Tire. They said sometime in the JK era, the TPMS frequencies changed. I'm guessing at the 2012 model upgrades. The 2016 JK picked the sensors right up after Discount Tire turned them on...or whatever they do.
Anyway, when I bought the Gladiator, I mounted these same wheels and tires on it. The Gladiator picked all the sensors up immediately. I've since changed wheels and re-used the same aftermarket sensors. Still working.
Maybe they installed the wrong frequency TPMS sensors. Just a thought.

Buying my first set of aftermarket wheels too so please don't make me feel like an @ssh@t when I ask these clarifying questions...but...I'm buying rims/wheels separate from tires for now. I have them on order. I plan to get some lugs as well since I heard factory lugs don't work with the aftermarket rims/wheels. Then, my understanding is I just need new OEM TPMS sensors (one for each wheel). I plan to order these:

Other than that...I should be good to go?

Thanks for helping a nubie JT modder.
