Hey all, I just picked up a set of Rubicon take offs. They have the TPMS installed in the tires. I have a SPort S with sensors in my tires. Will I have to get my truck reprogammed to pick up the sensors in the new tires?

Thanks

Should not have to as long as they are the correct sensors. Jeep switched sensors after basically the first week of June 2021. If you have a post June 2021 build, and pre June 2021 sensors, they won't work. And vice versa. Find out (if you can) from the seller of the take-offs what his build date was. On the driver's side door jamb.

So I will have to have reprogrammed or do I need to take sensors from my old tires and have them installed in the new tires?

old to new is easiest option. Unless you want to buy the correct sensors and take the ones from the takeoffs and sell them. Seem to be in short supply out there now. Tire shop will charge you to remove and install old sensors, plus rebalancing probably.

You'll have to move your old sensors over to the new wheels and tires.

Depends on the build date of the 2021. They changed the sensors in June. But you can't reprogram them, you'll have to swap them from your old wheels, if the 2021 was built June or later.

From my understanding, it should. Just throw them on and go drive around for while. Take note of the pressure in them as well as your old ones. If they are the same, you may need to drop the new ones to 4-5 psi to make sure they register. But you should know pretty quick if the computer is not picking them up. You'll get your friendly dash light.
