TPMS weird issue

I recently bought new tires and 4 new mopar sensors for my post June 2021 Gladiator. These are the correct sensors for my jeep. I can only get one sensor to read. The drivers front is reading. I've been driving on them now for 4 or 5 days. I did try pulling the neg battery for a few minutes and most recently I swapped the wheel.

This is where it's getting weird, The drivers front is still reading even though the wheel/ tire combo is now in the rear. I'm not sure what to do next. I have my old wheels and sensors I may just break the beads and toss them back in but that's a lot of work. The tire that is reading is reading 35psi and up to 38 psi after driving for more than 15 mins. Any other thoughts? Should I pump up the pressure I'm running 315/70r17 maybe start at 37 or 38psi?

There are some threads that indicate the sensors cannot be read when mounted in some wheels. I would go by the tire shop and have them check to see if they can get a reading from the new sensors. If they are working, put the old wheels back on and see if it reads the sensors.

Good point but they are stock mopar wheels.

I just used my jscan to disable the tpms, and then I re-enabled it. If this doesn't work, I'll break down the wheels and put my old sensors back in.

When you say "these are the correct sensors for my Jeep" how was that verified? Kind of hard to get 4 incorrect parts from a supplier, but not impossible.
Doesn't seem right that the others worked and the new ones are totally messed up...was the work done by you or at a tire shop?
Possibly something went astray when you Disabled/Enabled with the J-scan.? Maybe worth another try.

I verified the parts numbers by visual inspection and vin number when ordering.

I did not originally do anything with jscan until they would not work.

I installed the sensors but had a shop mount the tires on my wheels.


Driving to work this AM all the sensors were showing a number. Ranging from 36 , 32, 34, 32 they did not change , however the truck is garaged and it was raining this morning.

It's only a 15min ride. I'm not 100% convinced that the ecu is actually reading the sensors. My wife's JLU was reading her stock sensors less than a mile into the same route.

I'm thinking I got bad sensors.

The factory sensors do go into a sleep mode. I have had a few new ones that just would not read after multiple pressure settings and miles. I currently have one in my driver's side front not working. When I pull this one out on my 5 tire rotation I will put another new sensor in it. It is irritating to me with that it will default to the tire pressure readings upon start.

I did manage to get one of my non working sensors to wake up while off roading at around 10psi.

I ended up breaking down all my wheels a and installing my old sensors... its working now. They are all reading.
