Has anyone been able to set up a back up camera on a trailer that will work with the 8.4 display? Im trying not to have another screen up front if possible...

I believe I read previously that the video is sent though the vehicle's main ecm for processing, so it would have to somehow tie into that to show on the main screen. What you may be able to do as a workaround , if you don't have a forward facing camera already, is to utilize that port and have it on your screen. I would imagine the system is already setup for one. Just need to figure out how to tie it in.

Pick up this video input cable from ZAutomotive and use it to wire whatever generic back up camera you find on Amazon. Trying to install a camera on your trailer like an OEM trail cam will be extremely cost prohibitive if not completely impossible.

The Cargo Camera analog port is available for use on the 8.4 Uconnect system using the ZAutomotive cable. It requires a Tazer, Jscan, or AlfaOBD to activate the port.

I was thinking about this some more this morning. Wondering if you could get a second backup camera from Mopar and then wire a bypass switch to somehow take the tailgate camera offline and substitute the trailer camera for it. ?

Yes, also this part. Hadn't had my caffeine before posting.
